Sadly, my grandfather, Ted Medina, has passed away. It looks like he went out to get his morning paper yesterday & fell in his garage. Fortunately his garage door was open & a passing neighbor saw him & call 911. She then called me & I called Mom & Uncle Ted so we could all get out there. Unfortunately, the paramedics were unable to revive him. I am glad he went quickly, though I feel emotionally devastated by this event. I will miss laughing at his corny jokes & the way he'd flirt with the girls. I treasure all the time I spent with him. I'm so glad my son got to know him.

Sucky day
So what the fuck is up with people that vandalize shit? Picture going to your car in the morning, getting ready to take your son to a birthday party for a friend & then you see it. The driver's window of your car is busted out. The contents of the glove box are on the passenger seat. Nothing seems to be missing, except perhaps your feeling of security. Sadly this is exactly how my Halloween started. There was at least 1 other car on my street that got hit as well. I called Crime Check & my insurance, but of course it's Sunday so I can't start calling the repair shops until tomorrow morning. It also rained last nite so I'm unsure if there is any other damage to the interior. I guess I'll just have to wait & see.

OMG what to do???
My normally sweet child has all of 5 good days at school since it started on Aug 27th. Many disciplinary slips sent home, a 2 hour meeting with the principal, teacher, speech therapist & school counselor. He pokes other children with pencils, covered another child's mouth with his hand because the child wouldn't be quiet, refuses to listen to the teacher when asked to go to the office or another classroom. We are looking into family counseling. Trying my best to work with the donor on figuring out what is up with our child. Sadly we're trying the kiddo living with donor to see if that improves things. I am less than pleased with this theory & I really don't think it's helping anything. I feel so helpless in the whole thing. Nothing seems to help & he says he doesn't know why he acts out. The speech therapist thinks he may be over-stimulated with all the kids in class. He is fine when it's him, the speech therapist & 1 other student. We have to wonder if the Montessori program is going to be right for him. I want to do what it takes to help him succeed, for him to be happy & thrive. We'll see what help counseling will provide.

beautiful day
Today was gorgeous! Sunshine, light breeze, perfect day to do stuff outside. Kiddo & I worked in the yard a bit after school today. I am really stiff & sore but very happy I got outside to enjoy the day! So we pulled up the maple starts from the flower beds & near the lilacs, raked the front lawn of seed pods & broken twigs, put all the plant things in the compost. Gotta get to the compost fair again this year to get free compost bin. Then I can have a 2 bin system. Going to break out the BBQ for Sunday dinner this weekend. My fabulous friends will come & have kebobs & we shall visit & eat & be happy in the sunshine! It's supposed to be around 70-something on Sunday I think. YAYYYYYYYY!!
